Dear reader,
You may be wondering who I am. Well, Im just your every day average person, born with a deep streak of curiosity. For the unknown and the prejudged. My name is Peter Sarr I was born in Manchester England in 1967.
My Mother was from Kingston Jamaica. My Father was from Gambia he was an engineer, he wasn’t around me very much, but I was always curious, about my origins and later in life the Worlds.
I was lucky enough to have one good talent in school which was reading. That was my strength and it probably saved my life. I read quite a lot of newspapers the odd fiction book at an early age but I realised they were filling my head with pointless dribble.
Then I realised reading the right things for me personally. Could make me a better person, which is what I was aiming for and still am. So I began to read history books first about Europe then the bible, then I got on to Africa and to me after a while it all came clear I came to the conclusion that all the human race had a common culture. And it had come from one place and that had to be Africa.
After a few years of reading books and trying to see as much of Africa as I could with no real success the media was, and still is, very hostile towards Africa. They prefer the stereotypical stories for what reason, I can only guess. It makes their own world feel comfortable and make everything seem like it’s in its rightful place. Probably inherited from there imperialist past.
So in late July of 2005 I booked a flight to Ethiopia the country I believe was the centre of African culture, I did not know what to expect I had heard so many negative stories, I did not have an hotel any friends or relatives, just threw my self in head first and the rest, is a page in my own personal history. |
